This reproduction is hand-worked with gold oil pastel to emphasize the grace falling from the Father's house, where words "major entrance" are visible. These words were part of the architectural blueprint that was under the original piece.
Grace descends from the Father's house to intersect the prodigal figure's back. The fence posts suggest the three crosses of Golgotha, and the body of the prodigal suggests a buried seed descending into earth. The furrows of the earth itself point to the heavenly entrance.
The original painting was the cover for Christianity Today Oct '98.
