Kiev DAWN

I asked my translator, Alla, to show me how to write the Russian word for DAWN in Cyrillic capital letters. I incorporated these letters into a dark sky along with text from a Kiev newspaper. Under this bleak sky there is a thin line of dawn. It suggests freedom after Kiev’s oppressive communist rule, as well as the persistent lack of communication between nations because of language barriers. Kiev DAWN, symbolizes the hope that our common interest in the arts would help bring us together in the ultimate hope of resurrection through Christ . The egg is a common symbol for new life.
